Two vital pieces of Peavey’s Classic Series of amplifiers are the Classic 50 2×12 and 4×10 models. These all-tube amplifiers still boasts the same circuitry and distinct sound, but has new, updated bones. The chassis is now chrome-plated, giving the amp extra protection.
As for the inner workings of the Peavey Classic 50 212 and 410, they run on three 12AX7 preamp tubes and four EL84 power tubes, and puts out 50-watts. The classis 50 combo has two inputs, Normal and Bright, and two channels, Lead and Normal. You can switch between the two channels with the flip of a switch on the front panel, or by using the footswitch. Either of the two inputs can be used for either channel, giving you more variety. You have even more control of your tone with the selection of controls found on the Classic 50.
Starting left and heading right, you have the two inputs. Next is the Volume Section. There are Normal, Pre, and Post Volume knobs, which control the gain levels on the Lead Channel. Next in line is the Reverb control, which can also be tweaked using the footswitch, then your typical three-band EQ of Bass, Middle, and Treble. Lastly for controls is the Master Section, consisting of Volume and Presence. These knobs are global, and will affect whatever channel you are using at the time.
An effects loop is standard on the Peavey Classic 50 212 and 410, as well as an external speaker jack. The amp will put 50-watts of power into either 8 or 16-ohm cabinets. All Classic combos are set with Blue Marvel speakers.
