Genz Benz’s 100 watt beast earns the name El Diablo. With a wattage output selector, this diverse amp can be played at either 50 or 100 watts, allowing you to get the versatility of two amps in one. The El Diablo’s power tube section as also been designed with tonal diversity in mind. Because every guitarist’s tone preference is different, the El Diablo can be run off of either four EL34, 6L6, or 5881 power tubes. In addition to the four power tubes, the El Diablo runs on three 12AX7 Preamp Tubes.
The El Diablo has two individual channels: Warm and Hot. The Warm Channel is used for your “clean” tones, but can also give you that “vintage gain” with the flip of a switch. Additional controls for this channel include Gain and Volume Preamp Controls, Bass, Mid, and Treble, and a Reverb Level Control.
The Hot Channel gives you gain ranging from Classic to High. The Hot Channel controls include the Classic/High Gain Switch, Tube Texture, Gain and Volume Preamp Controls, Tube Contour, Bass, Mid, and Treble, and Reverb Level Control. For overall controls, you have a Master Reverb and Master Volume control, as well as an Attack Control. This gives you a boost in upper mids that gives you more pick attack.
