Marshall reissued the Vintage JCM900 (4100) head, with the tone and versatility that so many guitarists loved. This 100 watt amplifier runs on three ECC83 Pre-Amp Tubes and four 5881 Power Tubes, so you know you will get that signature Marshall sound. However many players replace the 5881 tubes with EL34s. It has two channels, 4 Band EQ, and a Series Effects Loop, giving any player a wide range of tonal abilities.
Channel A is the clean channel. It will give you anything from crystal clear clean tone to a crunchy tone, thanks to its own Volume, and Gain controls. Channel B is the higher gain channel. At its lowest point, it will give you the highest gain of Channel A, or you can get it super raunchy if that’s more your style.
Each channel has a dial for Volume, Reverb, and Gain. The only global controls are for Presence, Bass, Mids, and Treble. This mixture of controls will allow just about any guitarist to find the sound they want. The JCM900 has also been wired with a Series Effects Loop, letting you use any pedals or rack effects you want, without compromising tone.
